Greetings

Welcome all ardent track and field lovers and occasional event viewers. Track and field is one of the oldest sports known to mankind predated as far back as the Olympic Games of Ancient Greece since776 BC, a time when only men were allowed to compete.Organized track and field continued while becoming widely popular up until the Middle Ages where it all but phased out. The sport picked up momentum once again in England during the 19th Century through its public schools and universities that held inter class track and field meets or meetings as they are currently called. As track and field regained its popularity and began to spread globally there was the need to establish global standards and rules in order to govern the sport. In its development, technology has played a major role in the development of track and field ranging from the making of the track which needs to be perfectly symmetrical and and exact in the distance of 400m, to the use of certain equipments and techniques that would aid athletes in running faster than before, jumping further and higher than before and not to mention throwing further than ever imagined. It also affects the actual competition itself through the use of electronic timers, lap timers and photo finishes to name a few. The aim of this blog is to constantly keep readers abreast as to the latest technology that is used to improve the sport, the virility and the agility of the athletes. The blog aims to not only give a synopsis of these technologies but also to analyze how it will affect the sport while simultaneously encouraging feed back and debate from readers. Thanks for visiting my blog and HAPPY READING!!!!
